Paper-based clinical assessments are slow, error-prone, and don't scale. Clinics needed remote, automatically-scored, exportable evaluation with HIPAA guardrails — and a clinician experience that surfaces the patients who actually need attention.

The shift

• Assessment engine: standardized questionnaires + motor/cognitive tasks with norm-based evaluation and flexible scheduling (one-time, recurring, multi-phase)
• Symptom diary with longitudinal trend visualization and symptom-driven assessment recommendations
• AI-assisted summaries and recommendation logic via AWS Bedrock and Google Gemini
• Passwordless auth: WebAuthn passkeys, email OTP, and traditional fallback with device remembering
• Role-based access across 4 portals (patient, clinician, clinic admin, super admin) with invite-only onboarding
• Public ROI calculator (no login) for community health centers, rehab centers, and private practices to drive sales

The outcome

Next.js 15 / React 19 / TypeScript / Tailwind frontend with Redux Toolkit (RTK Query). Backend on AWS Amplify Gen 2: AppSync (GraphQL) + API Gateway (REST), DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, Cognito for auth. Email via Resend. Testing with Jest + Playwright + SonarQube. HIPAA-compliant AWS infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit; SOC 2 in progress.
